I teach saxophone, clarinet, flute, and oboe lessons to students of all ages and abilities through Music Works Iowa in Mt. Vernon on Wednesdays. See my availability here.
For beginning clarinet students, I recommend these accessories:
Reeds These little guys are fragile and key the clarinet being a source of joy. Always have a few backups in the case
Reed case – This protects and organizes reeds. This is much better than what the reeds come in and will absolutely save you money and headaches within a year.
Method Book – Sound Innovations – This book will be needed for school
Neck Strap – not essential, but VERY helpful for new students holding the instrument and professionals who practice long hours.
Swab – not essential right now but keeps the inside dry after playing. Moisture in a clarinet in the cold can cause cracks in the winter, and gurgly sounds after long practice sessions
