Reach Out Anytime
If you have a question about an instrument, need help deciding what service makes sense, or want to schedule a drop-off, you’re welcome to reach out anytime. Conversations are part of the service, and there’s no obligation to proceed with work.
Best Ways to Contact Me
Text is often the fastest way to reach me and works well for quick questions, scheduling, or sending photos of an instrument issue.
I’m happy to take phone calls and answer questions directly whenever I’m available. If I miss your call, feel free to leave a message or follow up with a text.
Email – Mike@MikeLivingston.net
Email works especially well for longer questions, school-related coordination, or non-urgent planning. Band directors often prefer this option.
What’s Helpful to Include
When reaching out, it helps to know:
- The instrument type (clarinet, saxophone, flute, etc.)
- Whether the instrument belongs to a student or adult player
- What you’re noticing (for example: stuck keys, leaks, general playability)
- Any timing considerations (upcoming concerts, school year vs. summer)
If you’re not sure how to describe the issue, that’s completely fine — we can figure it out together.
What to Expect Next
Once you reach out, we’ll talk through what you’re noticing and decide on next steps. In many cases, I can give a rough idea of timing right away, and I’ll always explain options before any work begins.
If the instrument needs to be seen in person, we’ll coordinate a drop-off time that works for both of us.
Visiting the Shop
Mt Vernon Repair Shop is a small, home-based workshop. Visits are by coordination rather than walk-in hours, which allows time for conversation and careful evaluation.
