looking back
I’ve spent recent years as a reed player with national tours, including Shrek the Musical, A Chorus Line, The Wizard of Oz, The Drowsy Chaperone, and Beehive. Between tours I worked at regional theatres in Phoenix, AZ , Cleveland, OH , and Lancaster, PA.
Before touring I was in Phoenix freelancing in many jazz and big band settings, pit orchestras, and various chamber groups. While in Phoenix, I studied all woodwinds, and carried a strong studio of private students.
I studied saxophone with Timothy McAllister and jazz with Bret Zvacek at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY. In high school I began gigging with several big bands in the suburbs of Albany, NY. My first saxophone teacher was my father, Gary Livingston.
